Writer's Journal

Searching for the right answer, but ready to question.
A journal to a writer in his/her own mind. A journal to exercise words and dramas.
And to find what is right to say.
Because the writer and the words should be together. And because friday (here) is forever.

Unit 4: Journal 1

In your writing journal, you will begin to practice building sentences with adjective and adverbial clauses.

For this journal entry, discuss some of the advantages of the place where you live. Using the lists associated with each of these types of clauses, write at least three (3) sentences including adjective clauses and three (3) sentences including adverbial clauses.

Underline the adjective and adverbial clauses.

Consider their function in both as a modifier and an aspect of your writing style.

I live in a very quite place near one of the city's main avenues, which is chaotic all the time (adjective subordinate clause, because modifies a noun, "avenue" or "city"). Although the traffic is intense (adverbial subordinate clause, because it's describing a condition, concession), it's a very nice avenue, full of stores, commercial buildings and public places. We can find everything there and the avenue itself is hundreds of kilometers long, which of course we can't just simply walk along (adjective subordinate clause, modifies "avenue"). There are many buses so that the people can go up and down the street (adjective subordinate clause, dependent describe purpose), and many of them pass right in front of my house, which is undoubtedly convenient and safe (adjective adverbial clause). Since I have transportation everywhere I need, (adverbial subordinate clause) I don't drive or even have a car. In order to go wherever I need to (adverbial subordinate clause), I take a bus down the avenue. If I have to go somewhere too far way (adverbial subordinate clause), a cab is the best option around. I live in a very good part of the city, indeed.
